Halloween may be uncertain this year… (AGAIN), but just in case you have last minute halloween plans here are a few costumes you can make out of clothes you probably already have.
First Costume: Army Brat - aka Cadet Kelly if you’re old enough.
Camo print is always trending in every season and many of us have something in camo print. Now is your time to use it.
What You’ll Need: Grab a pair of camo pants, skirt, or shorts, and basic tee, a baseball cap, and tie up boots.
You’ll be able to channel your inner G.I. Jane to halloween fun!
Second Costume: All Dionne, no Stacy
Growing up watching Clueless (the movie and the series), I loved Dionne! She was smart, rich, and extremely fashionable. She had her equally fashionable group of friends and the affections of the gorgeous Murray aka Donald Faison. It’s only right that I revamp my Dionne costume with plaid items in my wardrobe.
What You’ll Need: Plaid. For this look, I used a plaid skirt and blazer I had, but I could have also went with her burgundy dress.
Third Costume: The Cowgirl aka Thee Stallion
Cowgirl boots or cowgirl inspired boots are so popular these days. Grab your comfiest boots and giddy up!
What You’ll Need: Boots, a Hat, and any outfit that says cowgirl to you. Here are a few ideas: denim on denim, any shift dress, any cottage core dress, overalls, or a good ole pair of levis and a tied button up shirt.
Fourth Costume: The Teddy Bear
Last fall/ winter the fuzzy sets were everywhere and of course I bought one. You may have too. I grabbed mine to make the most comfy costume of the year. This is the perfect time to make use of the lounge wear we all purchased while staying at home.
What You’ll Need: A fuzzy set or a monochromatic brown or black outfit. For my face, I added concealer to my nose and cheeks to give it the full bear look. For my hair, I made two buns for my bear ears.
Fifth Costume: The Black Cat aka The Halle Berry
Why be a regular black cat when you can be the Halle Berry version. Faux leather leggings have been one of the longest running trends over the past few years and almost everyone has a pair. Before you put them away, grab them for you slinky halloween costume as catwoman. 🐱
What You’ll Need: Faux leather Leggings. I have a straight leg version and a flared version, but I went with the slinkier look for this costume. I also grabbed a black crop top with a cutout and strap to wrap around my waist for flair. For my face, I took my eyeliner to my nose and cheeks to give it the full cat look. For my hair, I again made two buns for my cat ears.
These were the easy costumes I could find in my clothes. Hopefully, you’ll be able to look in your closet and find a few as well.
